spray is used extensively for repair

pumps, valves and turbine components. SMS

resistant overlays, Thermal barrier systems,
electrically insulative and conductive coatings,
abradables and traction coatings. SMS provides
thermal sprayed coatings to aerospace, petroleum,
power generation, mining, pulp and paper

SMS
is one of the few companies in the world to offer
diffusion (CVD) and Physical Vapor Deposition
(PVD) coatings along with thermal spray.
Our rapid heat furnaces are used to impregnate
metallic alloys with boron, aluminum, chrome,
vanadium, silicon, carbon, titanium and other
elements to form hard, corrosion and heat resistant,
metallurgically bonded compounds. The advantage
of our process is that since the coating is applied
via a vapor process, blind corners, small internal
diameters and complicated geometries can be coated.
